Can I Travel The World & Day Trade? Custom Hotkeys, Ultra Thin Screens & A Rucksack

This is a question that comes up a lot with the newer traders, can I trade remotely and travel? Of Course! TraderEquity is a global remote day trading firm that has traders and trading groups all over the world trading each session. However, it should be noted that we recommend you get consistent first before looking to travel the world and Day Trade!

One of our full time traders who does infract travel as a digital nomad and day trades very kindly took the time to share with us his travelling trade setup, which we have detailed below for you.

15.6" Asus ZenScreen MB16AC Portable Screens

$300-$325 USD

Light weight and ultra thin at only 8mm it also comes with a protective case which doubles as a stand. Its also fully HD with a True resolution of 1920x1080 and Flicker Free. There is no external power source needed it all runs off either USB or USB-C. It comes with a Free Pen and its only 800 grams. Screen realestate for a day trader is so important therefore we would highly recommend buying 3 of these!

Samsonite 15.6" Expandable Laptop Rucksack

Price: $100-$350 USD

These Samsonite laptop rucksacks are unbelievable, not only are you able to fit your laptop and three Asus ZenScreens safely and securely but there is room for everything else you would ever need for your travelling Day Trading Setup. On a lot of the bags, there is also the ability to add a small padlock on the zip to ensure they are kept safe from pickpockets in crowded areas. Just ensure to get the right size for your laptop!

15.6" Gigabyte Gaming Laptop or Similar

Price: $1000-$6000 USD

The true core of your Day Trading Traveling Setup. Its essential to ensure, its fast enough, has enough RAM and a seperate graphics card to ensure it can run all of the extra screens. You should find that gaming laptops are most suitable for trading from as they typically have that seperate graphics card. However, always check with the shop or seller to see that it is suitable and fast enough to accomodate those Asus Screens.

Price: $110-$130 USD

This Programmable Hotkey Pad is a must have if you’re a day trader that scalps or uses hotkeys to trade. 24 programmable buttons that you can set up to execute anything on Sterling Trader Pro, also all of the button tops come off so you can add your own custom labels. Its very lightweight and helps when desk space is limited.  

StarTech 4 - Port Portable USB Hub

Price: $10.00 USD

Compact and lightweight perfect for travelling, really is essential to have one of these especially when you have three screens, a mouse, hotkey ControlPad and maybe your phone all plugged into the computer.

If you ever find yourself in a position where the WIFI connection drops out. You can simply email your risk manager over the mobile phone network and have your position closed immediately. All traders at TraderEquity are assigned a Risk manager who watches over their trades. There is also a Daily Max Loss on all Trading accounts, which once hit your risk manager will step in and close all open positions. This can be invaluable to have not only for travelling but to help prevent over trading or large losses.
